The Mental Health Academy (MHA) is highly regarded for providing evidence-based, practical, and globally diverse professional development for mental health clinicians. Feedback indicates that the organisation successfully balances high-level research with immediate clinical applicability, making it a primary resource for continuing education requirements.
Pros
- Exceptional Value and Accessibility: The service is frequently praised for its affordability, offering numerous free summits and low-cost CEU options. The flexibility to attend live sessions or access high-quality recordings on-demand is a significant benefit for busy professionals.
- High-Calibre Presenters: Users consistently highlight the expertise, passion, and professionalism of the facilitators. The inclusion of world-class experts and diverse international perspectives provides a broad and updated worldview of therapeutic practices.
- Clinically Relevant Content: Courses and summits, particularly the Addictions and Suicide Prevention summits, are noted for being "on-topic" and providing "real tools" that can be immediately integrated into clinical practice.
- User-Friendly Platform: The online learning portal is described as intuitive and well-organised, allowing for seamless navigation through modules, easy access to resources like slides and handouts, and efficient certificate acquisition.
Cons
- Occasional Technical Issues: Multiple reviews mentioned technical difficulties during large-scale live events, such as login failures or sound/visual lags, though most noted these were resolved quickly by the support team.
- Time Constraints for Q&A: Some participants expressed a desire for more interactive time with presenters, noting that the one-hour session format sometimes limits the ability to ask questions or dive deeper into "thick" material.
- Live Attendance Requirements: A few users noted that while on-demand access is a benefit, certain licensing boards only accept live attendance for credits, which becomes an issue when technical glitches prevent live participation.
- Chat Moderation: There was a specific report of unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour in the live chat during a session, suggesting a need for more active moderation during high-attendance webinars.
Verdict
Mental Health Academy is an excellent resource for mental health professionals seeking high-quality, evidence-based continuing education that is both affordable and flexible. While large live events occasionally suffer from minor technical strain, the depth of expertise and practical utility of the training make it a top-tier choice for practitioners globally.
I truly believe MHA has my best interests in mind, and offers quality presentations for a minimal price - a huge plus in today's economy. In addition, they allow me to earn my CEUs on my time and in a super easy format. They offer a great variety of topics and 98% of the presentations I've watched were excellent, providing new info to this long-time counselor.
It's been a great experience taking ceu's with MHA, yearly Summits and other professional credit hours. I find the presenters and presentations highly professional, timely and enriching. My recent experience with the staff humbled me the most, trying to retrieve my certificates of attendance as well as transcripts to fulfill my NCC re-certification requirements was outstanding. Thank you, MHA, for your excellent services. austin charles ochu.
These webinars are so easy and convenient to attend. The selection of speakers are top notch professionals who have a wealth of knowledge on the subject they are speaking on. I have attended webinars in the past where the power point slides are unavailable. Some webinars take a month to get the slides and the CEU certificate to me. Also, there… Read more
are so many various entities who approve this training (specifically NBCC). In addition, the cost is affordable.

I had a truly positive experience with the 2026 Working with Addictions Summit through Mental Health Academy. evidence-based practices. I especially appreciated how the content balanced theory with practical strategies that I can immediately integrate into my work with clients. The diversity of perspectives—ranging from neurobiology to trauma-informed care—added depth and relevance to the learning experience.
The technical support during the live Addictions Summit presentations was outstanding. While there were a few minor challenges along the way, the Mental Health Academy team addressed them promptly, demonstrating both integrity and grace in delivering effective solutions.
Overall, my experience with Mental Health Academy and the Addiction Summit was highly valuable and enriching. I would confidently recommend it to anyone working in the mental health or addiction field who is seeking meaningful, high-quality professional development.

The MHA Summit 2025 was my first through MHA and it had superseded all my expectations with content, quality of sessions, ability for questions, engagement during the live shows and an option for on demand which came in handy as I couldn't attend some on the Thursday live due to work commitments. At first, I thought a couple of the sessions might… Read more
not be relevant to my line of work, but I still attended and I am so glad that I did. For an hour session, the content that was delivered was in depth, easy to follow and very up to date with current issues. I am so very thankful that I have the ability to rewatch the sessions and would highly recommend for the next one, spending the extra on the ticket for the on-demand option. My knowledge in the areas that were spoken about has been expanded beyond my initial expectations and the resources/tools that I have picked up from the sessions is invaluable. It was also fun to see the same names joining throughout the summit on the live sessions and the engagement during that time was also so very beneficial. Thank you Pedro for all your organising and behind the scenes work to get this to happen; Thank you to all the speakers for your knowledge and time; and to all the attendees for an amazing Summit experience.
It was the last minute. I'd been rushed off my feet. I hadn't registered for the Mental Health Super Summit 2025, and I thought there is no way I will have time to access the webinar. I thought I love the cause and will donate. Then I thought, oh I will pay for the subscription so I can watch the sessions up to late December. Thinking that was… Read more

Day 1 came, I was keen and played a webinar whilst in the car and then another. Saturday came and it was a Mental Health Super Summit feast. I was in the Grove. Forget the gardening, the sorting out the study, catching up for dinner with friends. I indulged in a degustation of practical psychological delights and by 7pm my cup was over flowing.
The impact, it was like a mix between a revival and Tony Robbins. I got my grove back. What a lovely refresher. I was inspired. Quality, professionalism and authenticity all the way through. Definitely the best bang for my buck. I no longer felt burnt out like I did when I signed up. The perfect remedy.
Thank you to all the presenters. You are truly inspiring. Thank you so much. I'm making some adjustments to my practice.
Positive reviews
Having the virtual option Bridging the Gap has been great! I've enjoyed and gained valuable tools and insight from all of the sessions!!!! Presenters were very knowledgeable and engaging.
I have been a member of MHA for a few years and found the information easily accessible and informative. I enjoy the free trainings throughout the year that help me meet my LPC live continuing education requirements along the numerous options for recorded trainings.
I would recommend Mental Health Academy to any clinical counselor, social worker, school counselor, or psychology professional needed professional development or counseling/continuing education units. It's diverse, thorough, well-planned, and interesting. It's very much worth the money and if you are a National Certified Counselor (NCC) it's a great way to get your hours for renewal. Thank you, MHA!
Negative reviews
The 2026 Working with aaddictions Summit had significant technology problems that prevented me from participating in it live, which I paid for. That was very disappointing. Great content, but I had to watch it after the event was done.
WE could use more MENTAL HELP to avert SUICIDE – Despite internet glitches and repeated misinformation/terminology, such as mental "health", "symptoms" (there aren't any; psychic symbolism, but not symptoms reflecting physiological, not psychosomatic dysfunction) and non-current, under-representation of the psychosocial science that grounds mental HELP, the conference was FREE.

Somewhat disappointed – I learned a few things from the recent summit, but I was very disappointed that you gave a platform for a clinician to speak and Internal Family Systems with people who use substances who was not trained in that modality. That seems disingenuous and misleading.

pulls together this top talent that I have not heard of or been exposed to because I work in a bubble. Please invite the presenters of the 2026 Bridging the Gap Virtual Summit for a repeat next year. I'll be there!

I have done several summits over the years. They are a great value, especially now. I like that I have access to the materials so I can fit the sessions in my busy schedule. The themes are very topical, the presenters knowledgeable and most of the information learned can be applied to my work. I highly recommend!
Great presenters in this affordable opportunity. Dr. Fitts was especially engaging, down to earth, while encouraging a curious and learning spirit vs. unhealthy competition between clinicians! Thank you!
"Thanks you to all the speakers in Bridging the Gap Visual Summit. The presentations were excellent, providing a fantastic range of perspectives. The practical take away were truly essential for whole-system change. I was deeply moved by openness, humility and empathy displayed by Dr Mc Gee".
This Summit was informative. I learned a lot about how to take care of myself as a clinician, work with diverse populations, and how to ethically incorporate AI into my practice. It was great!
THe classes are well organized and the presenters very knowledgable. More importantly they are also accessible so there is opportunity for follow up i if a topic is particularly interesting to you, These are an excellent value and often timely in presenting new themes,
