I have been a member of the Mental Health Academy (MHA) since March 2015 and attach a short video reviewing my experience with MHA.
I have attended the Suicide Prevention Summit online for a number of years now. The variety of guest lecturers add valuable diversity of experiences and approaches to suicide prevention and postvention work. I highly recommend all counseling professionals to attend a summit in the future and it is great fun to see how many people attend from… Read more

I have been connected to MHA for almost 5 years now. I’m very pleased with the trainings offered and the affordability of the service! The instructors are educated and very knowledgeable. I am always impressed by their ability to provide services efficiently across the US and other countries.
Follow-up · Multiple courses are offered on various topics. You may also have the opportunity to make suggestions on further topics of interest to you. Hi to all, I have attended multiple conferences over the past few years as conducted by the Mental Health Academy. and wisdom. I feel that I have gained much insight about mental health and the privilege that we have as mental health providers to assist our clients or patients.
Additionally, the platform upon which the presentations are delivered are high qulaity and this ensures for great visual and sound experiences. On the occasion that there might have been technical difficulties, they are resolved quickly and therefore do not result in a delay of any significance. I am grateful to participate and learn from some of the world's finest who share and offer novel insights on groundbreaking research and it's applicability in key areas of mental health. Most fascinating for me are the advancements with AI and it's use in suicide prevention, or with respect to predictive modelling for relapse in addictions work.
Lastly, I am currently finishing a couple's relationship course whereby key stratagies to enhance wellbeing for couples are being taught that provide interventions to attend to challenging couples' dynamics from the beginning of a relationship to it's conclusion, be it natural or otherwise. I have appreciated each of these unique workshops for the education and insight that they offer as well as how the Mental Health Academy has ensured clear visual and sound whether the presenter was speaking from Canada, the United States, Europe or even from Australia on occasion. Well done!
I had a truly positive experience with the 2026 Working with Addictions Summit through Mental Health Academy. Each session was engaging, informative, and grounded in… Read more
evidence-based practices. I especially appreciated how the content balanced theory with practical strategies that I can immediately integrate into my work with clients. The diversity of perspectives—ranging from neurobiology to trauma-informed care—added depth and relevance to the learning experience.
The technical support during the live Addictions Summit presentations was outstanding. While there were a few minor challenges along the way, the Mental Health Academy team addressed them promptly, demonstrating both integrity and grace in delivering effective solutions.
Overall, my experience with Mental Health Academy and the Addiction Summit was highly valuable and enriching. I would confidently recommend it to anyone working in the mental health or addiction field who is seeking meaningful, high-quality professional development.
The MHA Summit 2025 was my first through MHA and it had superseded all my expectations with content, quality of sessions, ability for questions, engagement during the live shows and an option for on demand which came in handy as I couldn't attend some on the Thursday live due to work commitments. At first, I thought a couple of the sessions might… Read more
not be relevant to my line of work, but I still attended and I am so glad that I did. For an hour session, the content that was delivered was in depth, easy to follow and very up to date with current issues. I am so very thankful that I have the ability to rewatch the sessions and would highly recommend for the next one, spending the extra on the ticket for the on-demand option. My knowledge in the areas that were spoken about has been expanded beyond my initial expectations and the resources/tools that I have picked up from the sessions is invaluable. It was also fun to see the same names joining throughout the summit on the live sessions and the engagement during that time was also so very beneficial. Thank you Pedro for all your organising and behind the scenes work to get this to happen; Thank you to all the speakers for your knowledge and time; and to all the attendees for an amazing Summit experience.

Mental Health Academy offers quality courses at a great price. I was about to pay a small fee in order to watch trainings that I couldn't attend live. The content is great and helps me keep my skills fresh.
I attended via live webinar the Mental Health Academy's 2026 Working with Addictions Summit. Ten excellent sessions were provided during this summit. I was very satisfied with the presenters who taught and each course's content. I walked away with a wealth of knowledge and information after attending this summit. Thank you.
Negative reviews
The 2026 Working with aaddictions Summit had significant technology problems that prevented me from participating in it live, which I paid for. That was very disappointing. Great content, but I had to watch it after the event was done.
WE could use more MENTAL HELP to avert SUICIDE – Despite internet glitches and repeated misinformation/terminology, such as mental "health", "symptoms" (there aren't any; psychic symbolism, but not symptoms reflecting physiological, not psychosomatic dysfunction) and non-current, under-representation of the psychosocial science that grounds mental HELP, the conference was FREE.

Somewhat disappointed – I learned a few things from the recent summit, but I was very disappointed that you gave a platform for a clinician to speak and Internal Family Systems with people who use substances who was not trained in that modality. That seems disingenuous and misleading.

The Addictions Summit was excellent! The presentations were relevant and applicable to my practice. I appreciate the on-demand ability since I wasn't able to attend live and the price was great!
Excellent presenters, relevant material, easily accessible, and incredibly affordable! Flexibility to participate live or via on demand video. CEU available. Very responsive to questions or assistance needed! Thank you for providing this service!
MHA's partnership with NBCC has been one of the best investments I've made for my continuing education requirements since the beginning. Each class I've completed… Read more

This is something I really want to highlight, because continuing education can feel repetitive and redundant if you're not working with the proper sources.
Integrating DBT into everyday clinical practice, Masterclass over 2 days with Dr Anastasia Hronis, While I have attended DBT training in the past, this presentation by Dr Hronis was refreshing and obviously delivered by a very knowledgeable and engageable presenter. pace and level and at which this training was targeted. It was very easy for me to follow and understand – and was backed up with good research, excellent resources and practical examples from Dr Hornis’ experience. I particularly enjoyed her delivery on “dialectics” (finding the middle ground) to be one of the best I have heard and understood so far. I also enjoyed the interactive nature of this forum which allowed me to hear from other people’s experiences and challenges when working with DBT in the field. Overall, I found this forum to be very enjoyable, relatable and motivating.

Having attended several sessions with Mental Health Academy I have appreciated the professionalism, quality of content, knowledge of the presenters and opportunity to engage with the presenters. I really enjoy the workshops that they have to offer. It is really educating and I enjoy how up to date the topics are versus from when I first learned about it. It is a great way to literally continue education.
I am well satisfied with the CE offerings from MHA. Summits and Masterclasses are easy to access and full of on-topic, helpful information. I will continue utilizing this resource and telling others!
I subscribed to the 2026 Working with Addictions Summit. It was helpful that all 10 sessions were available on demand after the summit, with slides and handouts for downloads. The course content was rich, and the presentations were excellent.
Mental Health Academy trainings are the best I have found online. I have been a therapist for 30 years and participate in all the trainings MHA provides for my continuing education credits each year. Their trainings are affordable and I feel they secure trainers with the most updated and highest levels of expertise in their designated fields of study.
